Born and raised in northern Greece, founder, Chronis Sapalidis hails from a long line of restaurateurs. His family has been in the food service industry for over thirty years.

He obtained his business degree from the Universite Paul Valery in Montpelier, France. Shortly after graduating, Chronis opened his first restaurant in Greece becoming an immediate success. Upon moving to the U.S. in 1991, Chronis set about learning the local industry and opened his flagship restaurant, Valley Forge Ristorante and Pizzeria in May, 1996.

His love of the business, respect for employees, concern for customers, and high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and service, have made his restaurant a landmark in the Phoenixville/Valley Forge area.

This success, coupled with consumer demand, has led to an expansion via Piazza Presto. After due diligence, the first franchise has been placed in the growth area of Limerick, PA.

Nephew and right-hand man, George Meresitzis, began working in the family’s restaurants at an early age. A Business and Marketing graduate of West Chester University, he has worked with Chronis since coming to these shores.

He is currently chief operator at Valley Forge Ristorante and Pizzeria, where the integration of his youthful European style has been an irreplaceable factor in the success of the business. George is also a partner in Piazza Presto, the restaurant’s franchise business.
